From Law Books to Football Fields

By Laura Mpoka

Elenimo Chembe, a lawyer from Lilongwe, has a passion for football that goes beyond the game. He founded the LENI Football Academy in Area 38, Kaphiri, to give young people a chance to shine through sports and education.

The academy partners with Mount Camero Academy, providing students with free education and accommodation. Chembe's academy covers learning materials and support. Students participate in local leagues and championships, using prize money to sustain the academy. This approach has yielded impressive results, with the team winning games and students thriving.

Allan Tembo, a student, joined the academy for the free education. "I get to play football, improve my skills, and make new friends," he said. "It's a great opportunity."

Chembe wants to empower young people, especially girls, to pursue their passions. As the academy grows, its impact is being felt beyond football, inspiring a new generation.

The academy is making a difference in the lives of its students. With Chembe's dedication, it's set to continue growing and achieving great things.
