For some time now Malawi has been fighting airborne diseases and sanitary diseases. In 2023 Malawi was hit by an outbreak of cholera, this affected many communities in all the regions. This life threatening experiences has made many Chiefs in Malawi to start awareness program. Chief  Kaondo of Kaondo village the area 36 Lilongwe gathered his villagers to teach them how they can implement sanitation in there households.

In his speech chief Kaondo said people need to be extra careful in  how they dispose waste as waste attract diseases like cholera which are very dreadful to human life, he went on to say he is very disappointed in how his people manage their waste. In complementing on what the chief said Annie Jefferson a nurse on a particular hospital called partners in Hope and a member of the community said that we have to take the initiative of cleaning up our community reduce the spreading of diseases in our area. She give a strict advice and warning to women on how they are disposing baby used diapers in the streets as these attract bacteria that pretty diseases, concluded to say I'll take the initiative find our community on cleaning up services.

Chief Kaondo said if anyone is found disposing waste any how is pay a fine of k 40000 , then he said his remarks and dismissed the villagers.
