Malawi Seeks 105 Billion Kwacha for Road Maintenance Amidst Infrastructure Development Push

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works has disclosed that it requires approximately 105 billion kwacha for road maintenance across the country.This was revealed when the officials from the ministry appeared before a parliamentary committee on Transport and Public Infrastructure on Thursday.
Speaking to MIJ FM's Alex Batison, David Mzandu, Secretary for the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, said that the funds allocated to the ministry in the proposed 2025/26 national budget are insufficient hence the need for stated amount.
Mzandu further explained that numerous projects which are underway including railway, road and air transport need substantial funding
